Alannah is ONE!

My little baby turned ONE last Tuesday! Seriously, I don't know how that happened. Josh and I both took Tuesday off to spend with our little princess. We went to lunch at Islands and Alannah got her first taste of an ice cream sundae. I cried when they brought the sundae with one little candle. It was almost exactly 11:38 when they brought it out. After lunch we went to the park and played for a while. We were planning to take her to the animal shelter to look at all the "Aces", but they were closed. We went home and just hung out and played the rest of the afternoon.












Thursday was Alannah's one-year check-up. My poor baby had to get four shots! Josh has come to all of her appointments except this one. Normally he holds her while they do the shots, but I had to this time. It was traumatic for us both. When Alannah was born she was 9lbs, 6oz (big girl!) and 20 1/4 inches. At her one-year check-up she was 20lbs, 1oz (now on the petite side) and 29 1/4 inches.

She's so active these days! Talking all the time. Her favorites are Ace, baby, and baba. Whenever she wants something and doesn't know the word for it, she says "baba" over and over until she gets it. She's so sweet with her babies. She kisses them and gives them hugs with pats on the back. She loves playing outside, especially at the park. I do miss having an infant, but she is so much fun right now. She's so smart and picks things up so easy. We are so lucky!

We had her birthday party on Saturday. I've been planning this thing for months (because I'm a crazy, over-planner). Everything turned out so cute and we had so much fun. I only cried once when everyone was singing Happy Birthday. We got very lucky and Alannah slept for a couple hours right before her party. I was so afraid that she wouldn't nap and would be cranky, but she was happy and having fun the whole time. She wasn't so sure about the cake. It took her a minute to finally dig in. She mainly got clothes....we were happy about that since she got so many toys for Christmas. I got her a cute puppy chair from Babystyle. I've been wanting to get her one since a friend of mine got one for her daughter before Alannah was even born. I'm happy with the way everything turned out. We get to do it all over again in a year :) Hopefully this year will go by much slower!

Lastly, we got her one-year pics done yesterday (with Angel of course). We were supposed to do them last weekend but it was freezing! It was a beautiful day yesterday so I'm glad we waited. I will posts the beautiful pics of my ONE year old once I get them.
