We had a very busy Christmas break...but oh so much fun! It began on Christmas Eve. We went to Josh's mom's house and celebrated with Shelley, Joe, Nick, Vanessa and Evangeline. We had a nice dinner and opened presents. Alannah was exhausted at the end! After Alannah went to bed, Josh and I played Santa. We filled her stocking and Josh put her rocking horse together. I was so excited for my baby's first Christmas. We woke up Christmas morning, had breakfast and then opened presents. My mom came over and we opened more presents. Alannah slept through dinner. It was a long, but exciting day for her. On Friday, my dad, sister, Alannah and myself went to Bakersfield. I was nervous about how Alannah would do in the car (3 hours each way). She did ok on the way there...got fussy for about 10 minutes, then was ok. The way home was more trouble to keep her entertained, which was Kristen's job since I was driving. Saturday was "Mexican Christmas". We celebrated at Josh's aunt's house with his dad and all of his aunts and cousins. Sunday - our last day of Christmas - was spent with friends at Val's annual Christmas party. Alannah got SO much stuff (too much). Mostly electronic toys that make lots of noise...my favorite :) We still haven't opened all of her toys, but it's fun to give her something new every week or so. She had so much fun ripping through the paper (and eating it). I probably took at least 500 pics of all of our Christmas festivities, but here are just a few of my favs:
After our Christmas festivities, I spent the rest of my time off hanging out with my baby. She got a cold (we all did) and was pretty cranky for a couple days. I suspected an ear infection so I took her to the doc. Sure enough...double ear infection. Fun! We have never had so much sickness in the house as we've had since she started daycare. But staying home is not an option right now...so we deal with it. Daycare has also made her a little social butterfly...she loves to play with other kids. She's growing so fast! Walking (sometimes running) all over the place and talking up a storm. Ace is her favorite word. She likes to point to things and say "wassat". She loves all of her baby dolls she got for Christmas. She hugs and kisses them. She's been trying all sorts of new food...she loves sharing her food with mommy and daddy. My sweet baby is almost one...I can't believe it! I'll be spending the next few weeks planning her birthday party, which is turning into a bigger event than we had planned or wanted. But she only turns 1 once right? I'll leave you with a couple more pics of my happy girl...
