OC Fair

Last weekend we headed out to the OC Fair.

It was hot...but a lot of fun! Alannah loved the animals! My little cautious girl wouldn't ride any rides.  I wanted to go on the ferris wheel, but didn't want to be a loser and go by myself.  So we looked at all the animals, ate some junk good food, and window shopped.

We saw some cows and BIG pigs...

We went in the petting zoo...

We saw some big pumpkins and all kinds of other fruits and vegetables being grown...

Spent a small fortune on corn dogs, turkey legs, cotton candy, and lemonade...

We had a great time! Can't wait for the LA County Fair!

InstaFriday (on Saturday)

We haven't been up to too much this week.  Last Saturday we heading out to the OC Fair...

Alannah had her first experience with the ice cream man...and of course picked a Dora ice cream.  I had a Choco Taco (I've been wanting one since I was pregnant with Alannah...it was goooood)

A friend and I were discussing Nutella and the fact that I had never had it.  She brought some to work to make us a snack.  It was good.  So I bought some.  Alannah and I have been enjoying bananas and strawberries and Nutella.

Alannah and Daddy (and Ace and Ruby) spent some time at the dog park...

Alannah turned 3 1/2 this week and is getting SO big...

So big in fact that she is growing out of all her shoes.  So we did a little shoe shopping yesterday...

Today we spent some time with cousin Lily (and didn't take any pictures =/).  Tomorrow we'll have a lazy Sunday and a BBQ at Papa's.  Happy Weekend!

Just Stay This Little

I counted months until Alannah was about two.  Then it just felt silly saying my daughter was 28 months.  But "27" is a special number around here so we always seem to notice the 27th of each month.  Last Wednesday, 7/27, Alannah turned 42 months....3 1/2 years.  It feels like she just turned three.  Now we are already thinking about her 4th birthday.  I really, really wish time would just slow down.  But since it won't, I just try to enjoy each day with my little girl and take a lot of pictures.  Happy half birthday baby!  Don't you ever grow up...just stay this little.

This song gets me every time...

My Little Gymnast

7
Alannah started gymnastics a few months ago, shortly after her 3rd birthday.  As much as I want her to stay little, I couldn’t wait for her to turn 3 so she could get involved in some recreational activities.  We were a little worried because she tends to be shy and reserved, especially in new situations with unfamiliar people.  She did great on her first day! She walked right to the mat with the other girls!  Here she is on her first day(sorry for the poor quality photos)…

She absolutely loves it! And she’s really good! I know I may be a little biased, but her teacher, has said several times that she’s very good for her age. A couple weeks ago she said Alannah is the smallest person she’s ever seen do a cartwheel.  She’s even advanced to the next class already.  It’s so awesome to see her progress from week to week. She learns quickly and is very flexible.  Who knows…we may have a future olympian on our hands :)

InstaFriday

It's been a couple of weeks since I've done InstaFriday.  What have we been up to the past couple weeks?

We spent some time at the dog park...

Had a family fro yo date...

I got to have a night out with my BFF's for my best friend's 30th! We had too much fun!

We made banana pudding.  Even daddy got in on the action...

We did our evening walks almost every day...

Alannah's favorite activity these days is playing outside in the water...

And we did a whole lot of being silly!

Hope you all had a great week! Happy weekend!

InstaFriday

We had a busy, fun-filled week this week.  After the farmer's market last Friday (and my phone debacle), I used the succulents I bought to make a terrerium (from a tutorial I found on Pinerest...love that site!)

On Sunday we all went to see Cars 2...which wasn't so good :( We ended up leaving about 2/3 of the way through.  Alannah wasn't feeling it.

And then of course, there was the 4th of July!

I took a vacation day on Tuesday and we tried out a new local water park with our friends.  It was a lot of fun!

We went out a bought Alannah a new "pool" this morning and are just enjoying a lazy day at home.

Happy weekend!
