InstaFriday

I take pictures almost daily. A lot of them end up being taken with my iphone. I love the idea of sharing my weekly iphone pics! So today I'm linking up with Life Rearranged for InstaFriday!

Last weekend, Alannah and I enjoyed the warmer weather.  We hung out on the patio, played in the water table, and enjoyed popsicles and watermelon.
I spent Saturday night with these girls and my hubby.  Valerie (middle) is one of my best friends and we had the BEST time celebrating her birthday!
Sunday was Father's Day...but it was also the day we got Alannah's first haircut!
Alannah is getting so good at gymnastics.  I love watching her every week!

We visited Jolly Jogurt this week for some yummy treats!

Poor Ruby hurt her foot during one of our runs.  Daddy had to carry her in so she wouldn't get blood on the carpet.

She will make a wonderful mommy someday!

Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend!

First Haircut

securedownload2
Yesterday we took Alannah to get her first haircut.  We’ve been talking about it for some time, but she didn’t want to do it.  Poor girl was given my thin hair, so it was starting to look pretty straggly.  Last week we brought the subject up again, and told her we would take her to get a special present after the haircut.  Of course this peaked her interest and she agreed.  So we got her pumped up all week and on took her on Sunday.  We took her to Cool Cuts, which is a salon just for kids.  They have toys and themed booths.  I thought she would pick the princess booth, but she proved me wrong and picked the fire engine to sit in.  As with everything else, she was super cautious about the whole process. She barely spoke to the stylist and had a nervous look on her face the whole time.  I did see a little shy smile with the stylist asked her if she wanted glitter in her hair.

We only got a little trim.  This momma couldn’t handle getting too much baby hair cut off at once.  The stylist put some cute little ribbons in her hair and finished her off with glitter spray and a lollipop for the road.  This place was so neat.  They gave her a first haircut certificate and saved a little lock of her sweet baby hair.

Big difference right?  We’ll probably go back in a few months for a little bit of a shorter do once Alannah I get the courage :) Another bittersweet milestone crossed off the list.

C25K

It’s no secret that I need to get my butt in shape!  I have never been a runner or been athletic for that matter.  I need to change my attitude about exercise and really change my lifestyle to include being active.  I re-instated my gym membership and have gone a couple times.  It’s hard to get to the gym since I work full-time and have a toddler (and a husband who’s work schedule is opposite of mine)  So, I also need to find something I can do with Alannah.  I’ve decided to give running a try.  We normally take a long family walk on the evenings that Josh is home…but I want (ok, need) to make it a little more active.

I heard about C25K from another blog.  I downloaded the app to my iphone and started last night.  It’s basically a nine week program that “trains” you to run.  It is geared toward us non-athletic, out of shape people, which I love! The first night started with a 5 minute warm-up of brisk walking.  It’s then followed by intervals of 60 seconds of jogging/running and  90 seconds of brisk walking for 20 minutes.  The last portion is a 5 minute cool-down walk.  I think I did pretty good last night.  I cut the last running interval short by about 10 or 15 seconds…but other then that, I completed the whole thing.  The program calls for you to do it 3-days a week and at the end of 9 weeks, you should be able to run 3 miles without stopping.  I plan to do it at least 3-days a week, if not more.  I’m so glad I have my personal trainer (hubby) to push me! Maybe by mid-summer I’ll be bikini bathing suit ready!

Catching Up (again)

It’s been a while since my last post.  Let’s see…what did you miss?
