Birthday Celebrations
On Alannah’s birthday we decided to go to Disneyland again. We did the same thing for her 2nd birthday, so maybe it will become tradition. We had the best day! We started the morning with a small gift for the birthday girl…some clothes (Disney of course) and some Disney princess figurines. After breakfast, we were off to the Happiest Place on Earth! I love Disneyland…so naturally, so does Alannah :) She was a little more cautious about the rides this year. The only time she actually got scared was when daddy persuaded us to go on the teacups and decided to go a little too fast for both of us. Alannah was not happy! She didn’t want to go on any rides for a while after that…and didn’t want daddy to join us…ha ha! Her absolute favorite part was meeting the princesses. I thought she wouldn’t talk to them because she would not talk to any other characters, but she went right up to Belle, gave her a hug and told her it was her birthday. There were three princess there and she talked to all of them. It was precious! I was a little bummed because Disneyland didn’t have any shows or parades going on that day. She would have loved to watch a parade. Apparently January is there slowest month so there is not much going on . I guess we’ll just have to go back :) Disneyland picture overload:
To celebrate with close family and friend, we had Alannah’s birthday party this past Sunday. It was a monkey party! The weather had been beautiful for about two weeks prior…but of course it rained the day of her party…bummer! Everything turned out ok though! We just moved everything that we had out on the patio to the garage. Most of the party was inside anyways. I love planning her birthday parties! I think this year was the most fun because she was actually aware of what was going on and was so excited! She loved every single one of her gifts. She got the most excited expression on her face with each gift she opened. The best part of the whole party was the look on her face when daddy brought in her new big girl princess bike. Even though she’s been talking about it since Christmas, she was so surprised and happy to see it! We watched a slideshow (the one below) during her party and she thought it was the greatest thing. She was laughing and pointing and kept saying “Look at me!” I managed to hold back the tears while singing Happy Birthday this year. She sat there quietly with a smile on her face while everyone was singing. It was so great to see how happy she was and truly grateful that everyone came over to celebrate her day!
