That's right...Alannah is walking! She's been officially walking for about a week now. She doesn't perform on command very easily. This is the best I could get...

Blog Stalker

In my "free" time, I like to read other people's blogs. While reading someone else's blog the other day, I came across this blog. I immediatly became absorbed and spent the rest of the afternoon reading every post. You should first start here to read this family's story. It is one of the saddest and most inspiring stories I have ever read. I sat at my computer for at least an hour with tears in my eyes. This woman never got to hold her baby.

I complain a lot (mostly to myself) about the fact that I can't be a stay-at-home mom. Reading this story made me realize how lucky I am. No- I don't get to spend every minute with my baby. But I do get to kiss her and hold her every day. Just makes me realize how lucky I really am.

9 Months....Holy Cow!

I know I sound like a broken record....but I can't believe how fast time has gone by. My little munchkin is getting so big. We just celebrated her 9-month birthday yesterday! She's displayed some new "tricks" in the past few weeks. She now gives kisses. Daddy makes kissy noises and she turns her head toward him and opens her mouth for a nice slobbery kiss. She also dances, which has got to be the funniest thing ever. We didn't teach her, she just started doing it. Any time she hears music (radio, cell phone, toy, or even someone singing), she starts to bob up and down. It's too cute! I will take video and post it. Maybe I've got a musical genious on my hands :) She also claps when she gets excited and loves peek-a-boo. She's on the verge of walking....it will be any day now. Then we're in trouble!

Her birthday is right around the corner. I've already started planning her party. Yes, I'm crazy. January 31st...save the date! I can't believe my baby is almost 1! Here are a few pics (ok-a lot) from our recent session with Angel:

Time Flies

I can't believe Alannah is almost 5 months old! I miss my little newborn, but I am having so much fun with her now that she actually has a personality! She cracks us up! I feel a little guilty as I haven't been writing down her stats each month and her milestones. But I take a million pictures and have been trying to get the video camera out more often. We've started her on a little bit of baby food. So far bananas, sweet potatoes and peas. All of which she liked...even the peas! I think we'll try pears next.

Father's day was nice. We went to brunch at El Torito along with 500 other people. Spent the rest of the day being lazy. I started my summer hours today...had to be at work at 7am...ugh. I hate the longer days, especially now that I have Alannah, but it will be so nice to have Fridays off!

I have a ton of pictures on my camera, but I will post them another time. Au voir!

4 Months

My baby is four months old today! I can't believe how fast the time is going by. Before I know it she'll be one. I'm trying to soak her up as much as I can and remember every single moment. One year ago I found out I was pregnant. Sometimes I wish I could relive the whole thing (well maybe not the pregnant part). It makes me a little sad that she's growing so fast, I wish she could stay a little baby forever. But she is getting such a cute personality, she laughs and smiles so much. The best thing in the world is to see her smile when she wakes up and sees me. It's amazing to see how much she changes and grows every day :)

My 1st Mother's Day

I had a very nice 1st Mother's Day :) Good company, good food, and a few good drinks. Josh and Alannah got me a pendant with her name on it and a digital picture frame so I can look at her pictures all day at work. Me and my baby on Mother's Day...

My First Blog

So I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and start a blog. I figured it would be a good way to keep family and friends updated on Alannah. I'm not sure how often I'll be able to update, but I'll give it a shot. There's not much new to report. We had another photo session with Angel this past weekend. I'm so glad I found her (thanks to the Gerdes family), she's awesome! She posted some of the pictures on her website: http://angelgphotography.com/

I'm excited for my first Mother's Day! I got two dozen roses at work yesterday and there were two dozen more waiting for me when I got home :) We're having a bbq at the house on Sunday....should be fun. I'll post pictures next week.
